Nikki Sanderson, who has been busy filming the latest series of hit ITV show, Heartbeat will be checking-in to the website in the run up to the Walk letting us know what she is up to, how she found last year’s event and offering her advice on how to prepare for May 23rd:

Wow, the support for this year’s Manchester Midnight Walk has been amazing! I thought we had a lot of people last year but this time round interest has soared and it couldn’t be for a better cause.

It’s been so busy on set but we’re just about done filming the latest season of Heartbeat and I can’t wait for it to hit the air. It’s hard to believe we’re almost done ? but at least I’ll have a little more time to dedicate to updating my blog!

I’m really impressed with Sam and Ben who are well underway with their training for the Walk, having been put through their paces by the Army in preparation for the big night! Even Schmeichel and Ozzie were up for the challenge!

If you haven’t already joined the Facebook group make sure you do and invite all your friends, it’s a fantastic thing to do with a group of your mates, last year was such a giggle!

“Well, I can’t believe it’s coming up to a year since the last Manchester Midnight Walk and I’m really happy to be backing the event for the second year running. This year promises to be even bigger and more spectacular than last year, and it’s great knowing that Sue Nicholls, Gordon Burns and Sam Aston to name but a few will putting their best foot forward to help raise awareness and much needed funds for St Ann’s.

“I was really overwhelmed last year by the turnout - men, women and youngsters alike all walked side-by-side, and the support from spectators and passers-by was amazing. Now, with the registration age being lowered to a minimum of 11 years old I hope to see many more young St Ann’s enthusiasts taking to the streets!

“It is a fantastic excuse to round-up a bunch of friends and start the Bank Holiday weekend in a unique fashion – and I don’t mean by just walking at Midnight, as I’m sure you’ll hear soon!
;-)

“Must be off now to get to set but I will check in again soon – hope you all had a great Easter and get registering!”
