A collection of brand new wedding gowns go on sale this weekend to boost fundraising for St Ann’s Hospice.
Unique designer style dresses, which would normally have retailed for several hundred pounds apiece, will be up for grabs for between £100 and £180 at the Hospice charity shop in Cheadle High Street from this Saturday just in time for the springtime weddings.
“We have a superb collection of wedding dresses donated by bridal shops
throughout Manchester, “ said the shop’s Manager, Chris Hampton.
“We also have a selection of colourful bridesmaids gowns, as well as hats
and dresses for the mother of the bride,” she added.
Neighbours in Wythenshawe have rallied together to raise funds to provide free care for patients at nearby St Ann’s Hospice. Pensioner Ralph Webb set about it staging fundraising bingo sessions for neighbours in flats at Birch Tree Court and Edwards Court and so far they have raised over £1,000 for the Hospice.
St Ann’s Fundraising Officer, Louise Kelly, said: “Mr Webb and his neighbours have done a great job raising all this money for the Hospice patients. I hope this encourages others to do the same, and if anyone would like to discuss any fundraising ideas, please contact me on 0161 498 3663.”
